               THINK  Out-of-the Box

         Think Mirrors, Frames, Trays!
Looking for an inexpensive way to add a fun, personal touch to your serving experience that will look great while saving money?  Grab your wall mirrors, borrow a few from your friends and neighbors, check garage sales for pointless pictures with wonderful frames, or browse in the dollar store for inexpensive mirrors and pictures. An endless variety of cute, unique serving trays will be at your fingertips for almost nothing!

Take the mirror or picture frame and lay it on a table.  Remove the pictures from their frames and replace them with foil, colored paper, or even a wrapping paper with a fun design!  Throw a few paper dollies on the  surface, then add your appetizers, wine glasses and more.  Now only you know the serving trays were once on the wall!  As an added budget bonus the mirror reflection adds dimension to your appetizers!

Something to think about...
- A large mirror with a great frame
looks like a top- dollar cake plate!
- Old Mirrors and picture frames can be
  painted and touched-up.
- Pictures with carved frames look like
  elegant, antique serving tray.
- Replace the photo in the picture frame
with a theme picture, reflective foil,
or any fun, elegant, or interesting design
  you can find.

Before you construct your Wedding ask yourself...

Did you look at the carpet, ground or floor of your church or wedding location?  You better! Your guest will, your Wedding Photo's will and you need to take a peak before a color collision occurs!

Let's say your bridesmaids are wearing deep purple and the church has deep red carpet and pews.  Now what?  Stay calm we have a number of solutions!

If you love a color that is not complimentary to ceremony location try to keep the color you love to a minimal.  This can be on ribbon or trim within the Bridesmaids dresses or within the flowers.

Perhaps you already have the
bridesmaids dresses ordered...no problem, we suggest laying an aisle
runner down prior to the ceremony( seat guest outside of the aisle). You can also dim the lights and add candles, this keeps the eye up and away from looking down.

Trick of the Trade: include the color of the carpet into your ceremony no matter how much it clashes, you can do this by printing program in the color of ink as the floor, tying a bow around the scrolled programs and/or incorporating the color of
floor within the bridesmaids flowers or alter flowers. Only you and I know you did not want to include the floor color, others think you have it all together!

     REHERSAL TIPS..
My Little Boy, purchase on iTunes
     Planning ahead keeps stress away!

-The day before your wedding place
a penny with double-side tape on the
floor of the church or wedding site
      where each member of your
bridal party will stand during your
      wedding.  During rehearsal guide
them to the penny, keep the penny
down for your wedding (the penny is
dark and will not be noticed by
others). Tell your flower girl and
ring bearer they can pick up the
pennies and share them after the
      Wedding!

    - Sometimes little ones in any bridal
party pose a challenge to getting
down the aisle.  They may be fine
at rehearsal yet freeze and refuse
      during the wedding.  We suggest
      having  your young bridal party
      members remain seated during
      the ceremony.

Our tip: During rehearsal have a
quiet small gift waiting for them
in a seat on the front row or where
they will be seated  (Yes, this is a
bribe for restless, scared and loud
little ones). Show the gift to the child
(don't pick it up) during rehearsal,
let them know the gift is for them
when they are seated during the
      wedding.

Always have an adult responsible for
each child in your bridal party at all
time. Never be responsible for your
own child on your Wedding Day.

Shrink your budget

Ask your parents, friends or neighbor...
"Where is your Wedding Guest Book"? Our
guess ..."tucked away some place". Then
ask them... "How many times did they look at
your guest book"? Answer.... "once or
twice".

WHY SPEND MONEY FOR SOMETHING TO SIT
IN A CLOSET?

Here are some our favorite out-of-the box guest book alternatives.... Personalized Guest Registry: Frame your
engagement photo or couples photo.
Surround your photo with a white or ivy
photo mat. Guests can individually sign this!

After your Wedding replace the photo with
your Wedding Photo, add glass and display in
your home.
     11x14 mat = 65 signatures (5x7 photo)
     16x20 mat= 160 signatures (8X10 photo)
                           or
Another alternative is your Wedding Album.
Open your album to the last back page
and
let guests sign in on this. As an added touch
you can add a handful of photos of the two
of you on the opposite page.  If you prefer
place a beautiful piece of
stationary within the
book for guests to sign.  Now your album and
guest attending will both become your history.

Reception Registry: Use the personalized
guest registry idea (above), only have a
caricature made of the two of you.  Surround
this 8x10 photo in a 20x24 mat. Place a sign
asking guest to place a message and sign.

or
Purchase a quilt. Ask each guest to sign a square and/or place a message on a square.   Use a fabric pen.
